Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you cover?
Are you a mobile caravan and trailer service?
What do you service?
We work on most:
- Caravans
- Camper trailers
- Box/utility trailers
- Boat trailers
- General towing setups
If you’re not sure, send a quick message with a photo and we’ll confirm.
What services do you offer?
We cover a wide range of caravan and trailer servicing, including:
- Brakes & wheel bearings (inspection, service, replacement where needed)
- Running gear checks (hubs, suspension, tyres)
- Trailer electrics (lights, wiring, 7-pin/13-pin plugs)
- Caravan 12V electrics (fault finding, charging issues, battery setups)
- Solar (diagnostics, controllers/regulators, upgrades, tidy re-wires)
- Gas checks & repairs (leak checks, regulators, hoses, appliance issues)
Can you do a pre-trip check before we tow?
Definitely. If you’re heading off from Cleethorpes, Grimsby, or anywhere around North Lincolnshire, a pre-trip inspection can save loads of hassle. We’ll check key safety items like bearings, brakes, tyres, lights, coupling/hitch, suspension, and let you know what’s urgent vs what can wait.
How long does a caravan or trailer service take?
Most standard services take around 1–3 hours, depending on what’s needed and the condition of the van/trailer. If we find anything bigger, we’ll talk it through before doing extra work.
Do you provide quotes before starting work?
What info do you need to book me in?
To book in quickly, send:
- Your location/postcode (Cleethorpes/Grimsby/Scunthorpe area etc.)
- Caravan/trailer type + make/model if known
- What you want done (service, brakes, electrics, gas, solar, etc.)
- A couple of photos if it’s an obvious issue (plug, lights, hubs, battery/solar setup)
What should I do before you arrive?
If possible:
- Make sure the caravan/trailer is accessible (room around wheels and drawbar)
- Have keys ready for lockers/hatches if needed
- Let us know about site access (storage yards and some caravan parks have rules)
Can you service a caravan or trailer that’s been sat for a while?
Yes — and it’s a smart move before towing anywhere around Lincolnshire. When vans/trailers sit, you often get seized brakes, perished tyres, dry bearings, cracked seals, and electrical gremlins. We’ll check it properly and advise what’s needed to get it safe again.
Do you fix trailer lights and wiring?
Yep. Most trailer lighting faults come down to bad earths, corrosion, water ingress, or damaged wiring/plugs. We can diagnose and sort those issues on-site across North Lincolnshire and nearby.
Do you work on 12V electrics and solar systems?
We do. That includes batteries, chargers, split charge, solar panels, controllers, fuses, and general 12V fault finding — plus upgrades if you want a more reliable off-grid setup.
Do you do gas work on caravans?
Yes — we can help with gas safety checks, leak checks, regulators/hoses, and appliance-related issues. If something needs specialist certification beyond mobile work, we’ll explain it clearly and point you the right way.
Do you carry parts with you?
We carry common parts and consumables, and we can source most things quickly. If your caravan/trailer needs something specific, we’ll let you know the best option (same-day if possible, or a return visit).
Do you offer emergency or short-notice callouts in the Cleethorpes/Grimsby area?
If we’ve got availability, we’ll do our best — especially for urgent issues like brakes, bearings, or lights before a trip. Message us with your location and what’s going on, and we’ll tell you the soonest slot.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept [ADD: card / bank transfer / cash]. We can also provide an invoice/receipt if you need one.
Is mobile servicing more expensive than a workshop?
Not always — and mobile servicing saves you towing time and hassle. We’re clear about pricing upfront, including any travel/call-out costs if applicable.
How often should I service my caravan or trailer?
A good baseline is once a year, plus a check before long trips. If you tow often (or tow heavy), or you’re regularly on wet/salty roads around the coast near Cleethorpes, you may want checks more frequently — we’ll advise based on how you use it.
